Pro Bono March Madness - The Asylum Project

Topics:
  • Political asylum

The Asylum Project pairs volunteer attorneys with applicants for political asylum and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees. Opportunities for attorneys and paralegals include brief writing, legal research, collecting country and human rights reports, and representation of clients in brief and discrete credible fear interviews, as well as more involved proceedings in the U.S. Immigration Court. An integral part of this training includes mock trainings and panel discussion by well known experts in the immigration legal field. Training also includes information on the detention process, bond and parole, asylum and immigration court practice and procedure.

Registration:
All Pro Bono March Madness attendees must register and pay in advance. We will not be able to accommodate walk-up registrations. This training will be presented by GAIN. Learn more at www.georgiaasylum.org. Register for this program and become a volunteer if you are an attorney, paralegal, law student or legal support staff. Lunch provided.
