The Door - A Center of Alternatives, Inc. is a youth development organization offering a wide range of services. The Legal Services Center provides free legal assistance to young people ages 12 to 21, including help with immigration, housing, foster care, family law, and public benefits. We also provide consultations on criminal matters.

Counties served: Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, NY (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Suffolk, Westchester

Services Provided

Areas of immigration legal assistance: Adjustment of Status, Asylum applications, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Removal hearings, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, T visas, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), U visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions
Populations served: Domestic Violence Victims, Human Trafficking Survivors, Individuals who are not in legal immigration status, Individuals with criminal histories, Individuals with physical/mental disabilities, Juveniles, Lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender, Torture survivors
