African Services Committee is a non-profit organization dedicated since 1981 to serving and supporting the needs of the immigrant communities of New York City. We are recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals as an immigration services provider, and we assist clients through multiple grant programs that allow us to provide many services free of charge to those who meet the specific program eligibility requirements. In addition, African Services Committee operates its Immigrant Community Law Center, which provides a wider range of immigration assistance to individuals at a low fee.

Areas of immigration legal assistance: Adjustment of Status, Asylum applications, Consular Processing, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Employment authorization, Family-based petitions, Habeas Corpus, Naturalization/Citizenship, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), U visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions
Populations served: Domestic Violence Victims, Farm workers, Human Trafficking Survivors, Individuals who are not in legal immigration status, Individuals with criminal histories, Individuals with physical/mental disabilities, Juveniles, Lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender, Torture survivors
