Bay Area Legal Aid (Oakland Office)
Bay Area Legal Aid is a non-profit law firm providing free civil legal services to eligible low-income clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in 4 main priority areas, including: Domestic Violence Prevention: Assisting domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking survivors escape abuse and create a safe and stable environment for themselves and their families through family law, restraining order, and immigration-related assistance. Housing Preservation: Assisting clients to access and preserve safe, affordable housing free of discrimination, with a specific focus on eviction defense and fair housing. Access to Health Care: Assisting clients to obtain health care services and health insurance coverage from county and state programs. Public Benefits: Assisting clients to secure public benefits and eliminate the barriers to employment to provide for self-sufficiency and consumer law. Our immigration services are limited to U, VAWA, and I-751 applications for very low income survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
