HIAS Global Headquarters (Silver Spring)
HIAS provides legal services and representation to asylum seekers and others seeking humanitarian protection in Washington DC and Maryland suburbs. HIAS represents two groups of individuals: (1) asylum seekers who are professionals, artists, scholars or scientists, and (2) children and their families from Central America who are fleeing violence. HIAS attorneys and accredited representatives represent individuals at USCIS asylum interviews, removal hearings in Immigration Court, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Referral services to pro bono legal services outside the area are also available.
