Development Director, Never Again Action
Never Again Action is a Jewish-led mobilization against the persecution, detention, and deportation of immigrants in the United States. NAA fights alongside immigrant partners to make visible the crisis of the deportation machine, disrupt business as usual, and demand government action. Since Never Again launched in June of 2019, NAA mobilized thousands of people into the streets, hundreds more to take on leadership in local and national teams, and currently support 8 active chapters running campaigns across the country.
Position:
Never Again Action seeks a Director of Development that will help the organization grow and become sustainable. The position is remote with ravel up to 4x per year expected pending COVID/health and safety status. There are core team members in NYC, Boston, Albuquerque, Chicago, Nashville, and Tucson. Full-Time salaries range from $40,000 to $60,000 depending on local cost of living, with the intention to offer more in future years as resources grow. NAA also offers comprehensive health care packages, including dental and vision, as well as unlimited paid time off.
Responsibilities:
- Development of short and long-term fundraising strategies to help meet budget needs and plans for organizational growth
- Help co-create overall organizational strategy and priorities
- Assist the Managing Director to bring other staff members into our fundraising strategy and financial situation on an ongoing basis
- Work closely with the Managing Director and volunteer fundraising teams to create and implement fundraising strategy, and is ultimately responsible for coordinating and supporting the process
- Be responsible for managing our current fundraising program and helping us increase our fundraising program from $500K to $800K over the next two years.
- Correspond with major donors and grant officers
- Work closely with volunteers to plan grassroots fundraising projects
- Developing fundraising emails and consulting on digital fundraising strategy
- Maintaining monthly donor program
- Leading grant research, writing, application & management
- Donor data management, tracking and reporting
- Stewarding relationships with major donors
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of fundraising experience (paid or volunteer).
- Some experience managing others or coordinating volunteers (paid or volunteer).
- Experience with some of the following: meeting design and facilitation, coordinating small teams or team projects, developing messaging or narrative, strategic planning, grant writing, grassroots fundraising or grassroots organizing, digital communications, major donors, board management or experience being on a board
- Strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to develop compelling arguments that can communicate what is inspiring and motivational
- Strong coordination skills
- Strong leadership development or mentorship skills and excitement to help develop and strengthen volunteer leadership
- Able to navigate different priorities
- Excited to integrate radical values into the messed up world of philanthropy
