Consulting Immigration Lawyer, RIF Asylum Support
Position:
- The position would involve providing consultations on the immigration court process for asylum seekers that have been either referred to court and/or were paroled into the U.S. in order to:
- explain what the steps are to apply for asylum at the immigration court,
- provide referrals to pro bono legal services and private attorneys, and answer other asylum-related questions brought up by the client.
- provide community legal presentations ( usually on zoom) on issues pertaining to the court process and new asylum policy updates.
Qualifications:
- The consulting attorney will provide an invoice to RIF . This consulting position is expected to require a few hours per month and on a remote basis.
- Speaking Spanish, French and/or Russian would be a plus
