Description:

Practitioners are increasingly seeing requests by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, consular officers and immigration judges for their clients’ arrest reports. Requests for these reports are being made even where the client was never charged or convicted of a crime, or where the client pled guilty to a lesser offense. This webinar will cover how arrest reports can impact immigration adjudications and how advocates can challenge the consideration of arrest reports. The presenters will also cover trends in the use of arrest reports and practical considerations when filing applications and counseling clients.

The trainers for this webinar are:

  • Rachel Naggar, CLINIC's BIA Pro Bono Project Attorney, Defending Vulnerable Populations Program
  • Carmen Maria Rey, Assistant Professor of Clinical Law, Brooklyn Law School
