While prior enforcement priorities focused mainly on those immigrants with significant criminal records, ICE’s new enforcement priorities cast every undocumented immigrant into a broad net of detention and removal. Therefore, assuring your client of his or her bond eligibility, and knowing when and how to achieve that bond, is essential when practicing in the current political climate. The panelists will discuss bond jurisdiction for “arriving aliens,” credible fear, parolees, and other noncitizens.
