In this time of enhanced enforcement, this two-day family-based immigration law training provides updated information and analysis on selected topics in family-based immigration, including: immigrating based on marriage; immigrating as a child or derivative beneficiary; adjustment of status and consular processing; smuggling; ethical issues in family-based immigration; and waivers of inadmissibility.  For newer practitioners, the conference offers a free optional introductory session on November 14, as well as a fundamentals track of workshops on Day One and Day Two.  Day One of the training includes a presentation by civil surgeons from Cd. Juarez on the medical examination and health-based inadmissibility. On Day Two of the conference, speakers from the U.S. Consulate and USCIS in Ciudad Juarez will join us for updates on consulate processing in CDJ and a question and answer session.  Conference speakers include Kristina Karpinski, Susan Schreiber and Charles Wheeler of CLINIC, and Margaret Gleason from the USCIS Ombudsman’s Office (invited).
