The Many Faces of Immigration

Through the perspectives of adults and children, physicians, social workers and attorneys, The Many Faces of Immigration will seek to provide a learning environment for social workers and related professionals to consider the ways in which immigration impacts the community and the lived experiences of individuals, families in the home, workplace, school. Issues in the justice and health care systems and economic impact will also be explored in this dynamic and highly interactive seminar.

Learning Goals:

  • Increased understanding of the scope of diversity in the immigrant population in the Greater New York City area;
  • Enhanced awareness of different values presented by differing cultural and ethnic backgrounds;
  • Improved ability to identify and help clients overcome barriers to both access to and provision of services to immigrants; and
  • Increased knowledge about resources for services for immigrant groups in the Greater NYC area.
