The World of Immigrants’ Eligibility for Public Benefits

Topics:
  • Public Benefits / Welfare

Immigrants face additional challenges when trying to access public benefits. Eligibility for federal public benefit programs is often restricted to those who are "qualified aliens." We will review which immigrants are qualified aliens and which qualified aliens are eligible for SSI, Cash Assistance, SNAP, and Medicaid, as well as other benefit programs. In addition, we will discuss the issue of public charge and reporting requirements.

This is a demonstration training offered at no cost as we will integrate Benefits Plus, our online searchable resource manual on over 60 different federal, state and local benefit programs, throughout the training to demonstrate how to effectively use Benefits Plus in your work. Learn more about Benefit Plus. Cost of workshop is FREE.

Online Registration is Required.

Note: This workshop will not discuss how an immigrant can naturalize or become legal in the U.S.
