Tackling Advanced Citizenship and Naturalization Issues

Topics:
  • Citizenship
  • Naturalization

Not everyone obtains citizenship after five years as a permanent resident. This seminar explores advanced issues including birthright citizenship, derivation through a U.S. citizen parent or grandparent, out-of-wedlock children, and exemptions from the physical presence and residency requirements of naturalization. The panel suggests strategies for obtaining exemptions, demonstrating good moral character, assessing criminal convictions, and proving your client is already a U.S. citizen.
