New Resources for Gender-based Asylum Claims

The Center for Gender & Refugee Studies (CGRS) announced the release of five new resources to support attorneys working on cases involving asylum and related protections. On June 11, 2018, former U.S. Attorney General (“AG”) Jefferson B. Sessions issued a precedential opinion in Matter of A-B- overruling Matter of A-R-C-G-, a landmark decision by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) recognizing that domestic violence survivors may be eligible for asylum protection. CGRS has been tracking cases impacted by Matter of A-B- and issued new resources to assist attorneys with their cases.

To request copies of these resources, or to receive additional assistance with your case, please fill out CGRS’s technical assistance request form.
