The Immigration Clinic at George Washington University School of Law provides legal representation to noncitizens in the DC-area. The Clinic represents individuals before the Arlington Immigration Court, USCIS in Fairfax, VA, and the Arlington Asylum Office. Our focus is on humanitarian forms of relief, with any emphasis on asylum (both affirmative and defensive) and family-based petitions; employment-based cases are not handled at the Clinic. Non-detained cases only. Intakes are only open during the fall and spring academic semesters.

Areas of immigration legal assistance: Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Employment authorization, Family-based petitions, NACARA, Naturalization/Citizenship, Removal hearings, T visas, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), U visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions
Types of immigration legal services provided: Representation at Asylum Interviews (Credible Fear Interviews, Reasonable Fear Interviews), Representation before the Immigration Court, Representation before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
