SUMMARY:Basic Immigration Law Virtual Training

DESCRIPTION:World Relief is pleased to offer a 6-week virt
 ual basic immigration law training. The training w
 ill be conducted using the curriculum of the Immig
 rant Legal Resource Center (ILRC). This course wil
 l help provide the necessary training component fo
 r individuals who wish to apply for accreditation 
 from the Department of Justice (DOJ - formerly kno
 wn as BIA recognition and accreditation). DOJ reco
 gnition and accreditation allows non-attorneys wor
 king at non-profit organizations to practice immig
 ration law. The course will provide an overview of
  many areas of immigration law and practice, focus
 ing on topics most relevant to those serving and r
 epresenting low-income immigrants. Additional requ
 irements for applying for Department of Justice (D
 OJ) recognition and accreditation will be discusse
 d during the training week. Participants who pass 
 the final exam will receive a certificate of compl
 etion from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (IL
 RC), the authors of the training curriculum. This 
 will help participants in the process of obtaining
  DOJ recognition and accreditation. This six-week 
 intensive course will take place online from Septe
 mber 8-October 17, 2025. This course will include 
 4-6 hours of live training weekly and will require
  additional reading outside of class time. Student
 s will have two weeks to complete the final exam a
 fter the last session. We do have a registration c
 ap of 60 participants.
