  knowledge to effectively use the Freedom of Infor
 mation Act (FOIA) and state open records laws in t
 heir individual cases and broader advocacy efforts
 . Participants will learn how to request governmen
 t records under FOIA, understand what information 
 is accessible, and navigate the process of obtaini
 ng documents related to individual immigration rec
 ords, policies, and practices. This session will a
 lso cover strategies for handling denials and dela
 ys in the FOIA process. Attendees will gain practi
 cal skills to hold government agencies accountable
 , inform their campaigns, and support immigrant co
 mmunities through the use of FOIA.
