 s of gaining permanent residence through a family 
 relationship. We will identify which individuals a
 re eligible to immigrate based on family relations
 hips and how each step of the process works. Throu
 ghout the course, participants will review both th
 e law and procedure for immigrating through a fami
 ly relationship, including examination and critiqu
 e of sample application forms. Topics covered will
  include immediate relatives and the preference sy
 stem, retention of priority dates, the Child Statu
 s Protection Act, immigrating through marriage, th
 e affidavit of support, adjustment of status, and 
 consular processing.
