Naturalization Red Flags

Topics:
  • Citizenship
  • Naturalization

This webinar will help advocates screen for risks and prepare naturalization applicants for the naturalization process. We will review the basic red flag issues that can cause an applicant to be denied or even deported and address recent developments in naturalization policies. We will cover red flag issues, such as absences of longer than six months from the United States, failing to file taxes or pay child support, and having an underlying application for permanent residence that contains a legal error or fraud. In addition, we will address how to handle hard issues when they arise at the interview stage. Arrests or convictions can also have major impacts on naturalization eligibility, but we will not discuss specific crimes and eligibility during this webinar.
