During this webinar, the faculty will discuss the changes brought by the Laken Riley Act and the noncitizens impacted by the LRA's detention provisions. Specifically, the faculty will discuss the law’s detention provisions, the groups of noncitizens whose detention should not be impacted by the LRA, the potential arguments for a narrow interpretation of the provisions’ scope, and the procedural options for contesting a client’s mandatory detention under the LRA.
