Topics:
  • Program Assistance

Join the National Immigration Project on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 3:00pm ET for a training designed to empower community defenders, advocates, and impacted community members with the tools and knowledge to effectively use the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and state open records laws in their individual cases and broader advocacy efforts. Participants will learn how to request government records under FOIA, understand what information is accessible, and navigate the process of obtaining documents related to individual immigration records, policies, and practices. This session will also cover strategies for handling denials and delays in the FOIA process. Attendees will gain practical skills to hold government agencies accountable, inform their campaigns, and support immigrant communities through the use of FOIA.

We will have simultaneous interpretation in Spanish during this webinar.

Because space is limited, if you are an attorney or legal representative looking for training, we ask that you consider signing up for one of our attorney-facing events. You can find our upcoming CLEs and offerings on our website!
