All About Special Immigrant Juvenile Classification

This three-part webinar series will cover the fundamentals of obtaining Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) classification and SIJ-based adjustment for children who have suffered abuse, abandonment, or neglect by one or both parents. Topics covered will include interviewing potential clients and screening them for eligibility, obtaining the state court predicate order, which state courts qualify as "juvenile courts," completing Form I-360 with required evidence, how to handle cases for children in removal proceedings, and eligibility for adjustment of status. The presenters will also discuss the impact of the visa bulletin, along with obtaining deferred action and employment authorization while waiting for a priority date to become current.
