The Annual Asylum and Immigration Law Conference, hosted by New York Law School, Immigrant-ARC, Safe Passage Project, and the Federal Bar Association's Immigration Law Section, offers two days of CLE-eligible trainings with panels designed for entry level and advanced advocates. Topics will include current issues in a particular social group, best practices in using experts, ethical considerations, disparate treatment versus intentional discrimination at the border, exploring imputed political opinion and best practices before the Asylum Office, e.g. format of submissions, evidence, use of translators, how to update files and making requests for reconsideration.
