This webinar will provide an introduction and guidance to post-conviction relief ("PCR") for clients with convictions in New York State.
Topics:
The course will lay out relevant PCR statutes for New York convictions, how immigration practitioners can identify that PCR may be an appropriate defense or strategy, and tips for immigration practitioners to coordinate strategy with PCR counsel. The course will also cover recent case law related to ensuring PCR effectiveness in removal proceedings.
Registration:
Registration will close on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at noon (ET).
Training will be held online through the Zoom webinar platform. You must register for this webinar training using an email address that is associated with a Zoom account.
Individuals who are not present during the live training will not be eligible for the CLE credits. CLE certifications will be distributed by September 15, 2022.
