Part 2: Legal Remedies for Immigrant Survivors: Introductory Seminar

In this 4-part skills-based seminar series, participants will learn to identify survivor-based immigration remedies, conduct a thorough legal intake, assess a client’s facts to determine eligibility and identify red flags and analyze evidence to determine how to prove eligibility for relief. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these skills through hands-on activities. Some homework will be required.

Session 2: Mock Client Meeting: Successfully Conducting New Client Intakes

During this session, practitioners will learn best practices for conducting a comprehensive new client intake to screen for immigration relief. Participants will conduct a mock-intake of a client, practicing trauma-informed interviewing while gathering immigration and biographic history and determining its relevance to survivor-based forms of relief.
