Join the NYIC and Central American Legal Assistance for a session examining asylum claims based on fear of gangs. CALA Legal Director Heather Axford will discuss current caselaw and legal strategies for framing a winning case where the grounds for asylum is fear of persecution by gangs or other organized crime elements. This training presumes prior background on the basic elements of asylum and will focus specifically on gang-based asylum claims.
