Part 1: Public Charge Training of Trainers

Topics:
  • Lawful Permanent Residency
  • Status/Classification
  • Other Immigration

The NYIC Public Charge Training of Trainers two-day program will equip frontline staff members of New York-based organizations with the correct information about public charge, who it applies to and when, and who it does not affect. The program provides participants with an intensive one-day training, educational resources in public charge, and access to ongoing technical assistance from our expert staff. The program is geared towards non-legal staff who interact with community members who may be fearful of using public benefits or healthcare for which they are legally eligible, because of public charge concerns.
