The Immigrant Legal Resource Center is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and will provide a Certificate of Attendance for California MCLE to anyone licensed in California and Uniform Certificate of Attendance to non-California licensed attorneys. This training will begin with an overview of the legal elements for naturalization and red flag issues that can cause an applicant to be denied or even deported. The afternoon will include an in-depth discussion of the non-crime good moral character issues and a discussion on how to obtain records through FOIA and other record requests. This training is FREE for participating staff from nonprofit organizations working on naturalization and citizenship issues and their dedicated volunteer attorneys. All participants will receive a free electronic version of the ILRC’s popular publication, Naturalization and U.S. Citizenship: The Essential Legal Guide, 15th Edition.
