This training will provide a close look at the process of and requirements for naturalization. We will also review acquisition and derivation of U.S. citizenship. The session will cover the requirements for naturalization, including the requirement of good moral character and common issues that can arise in that realm. We will look at exemptions and waivers, in particular the disability waiver to waive the English and Civics exam requirement. Finally, we will address other considerations when counseling clients on naturalization and whether to apply. Please note that this training is limited to organizations and attorneys based in New York State.
