Ethics for Immigration Practitioners

This training will provide an overview of ethical considerations for the immigration legal practitioner. The session will review sources of law governing the practice of immigration attorneys and accredited representatives, and the ethical duties of immigration practitioners that flow from them. Participants will learn about fraud in the practice of immigration law and how practitioners can avoid engaging in or enabling fraud, and the penalties associated with it. We will also touch on the unauthorized practice of immigration law, and how to support clients who may have been victims of fraud. The training will also deal with other ethical obligations regarding conflicts of interest, confidentiality and competence. This training will be conducted by Cyrus Mehta, Founder and Managing Partner of Cyrus D. Mehta & Partners PLLC
