Asylum Step by Step: Gender Based Asylum Claims Part II

This CLE wil train advocates to work with survivors of gender based violence seeking asylum to gather corroborating evidence and prepare them to testify the asylum office and the immigration court. The training will focus on the unique considerations when co-documenting and asylum case for a survivor of gender based violence and preparing survivors of all ages to tell their stories so that the adjudicator gets the information they need to verify asylum eligibility. This training will feature tips, strategies, and clear examples of corroborating a child client's asylum claim with other witness' statements and evidence and to prepare the asylum seeker to understand the role of adjudicators and to shape their reasons for fleeing their country into a cohesive, chronological narrative.
