The UNHCR, together with KIND and the Young Center, will host a free webinar on representing children from Central America and how to use international law to strengthen asylum claims in the U.S. Speakers on the webinar will discuss:

  • UNHCR's work on child protection and relevant international guidance on child asylum claims (Nicole Boehner and Colleen Cowgill, UNHCR);
  • The role of the child advocate and best interests recommendations (Jennifer Nagda, the Young Center);
  • Legal arguments in Central American children's asylum claims relating to gang violence (Wendy Wylegala, KIND).
