The Immigration Advocates Network (IAN) invites you to a free webinar, "Data Stewardship for Immigrant Communities in Troubled Times." Data security has long been an area of concern for nonprofits working with immigrant communities. With a new administration that has indicated it wants to create a database of Muslim Americans and to deport millions of undocumented immigrants, this concern has risen to the forefront. Nonprofits working with immigrant communities face many critical questions that touch on legal, technical and ethical operations. The panelists are Ken Montenegro, Director of IT, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles, and Joshua Peskay, VP of Technology Strategy, RoundTable Technology.
This training will discuss:
- Threat Modeling (how to think about different risks and impact of those risks);
- Password Managers;
- Encryption for data, devices and communications;
- Two-factor authentication;
- Security Awareness Training;
- "Blind Subpoenas" and how you can protect against them; and
- An introduction to multiple resources, guides and tools to improve data security at your organization.
