Bringing together national experts on issues relating to the intersection of criminal and immigration law, immigration detention, judicial review, and options for legal immigration, panelists will discuss the practical impacts of IIRIRA and AEDPA in their 20th anniversary year and what challenges they have created for immigrants and representatives in New York and around the country. This program will conclude with a look forward to what obstacles advocates and lawyers can continue to face as well as the prospects for immigration reform legislation to Fix 96 and beyond.
