Training Opportunity for Paralegals and Legal Assistants on How to Prepare a U Visa Case

Topics:
  • U Visas

During this webinar, our faculty will train participants to analyze potential U visa cases, prepare forms and gather evidence, develop essential collaborations with domestic violence and sexual assault advocates and assemble the U visa application ready for review. ASISTA Co-Director Sonia Parras and Program Associate Maria Lazzarino will review and discuss the legal assistant and paralegal's role with regard to key legal and factual issues, immigration forms, and spotting potential concerns to work as a team with the attorney or BIA representative. Prior knowledge on U visa cases is recommended for better understanding of the preparation process. Ample time for questions during the presentation will be provided.
