Women and Immigration Reform: A Commitment to Women, Children, and Families

  • 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Topics:
  • Immigration Reform
  • Gender

Immigrant women comprise 51% of all immigrants in the United States. More than 5 million women in the United States are undocumented. Historically, women and women's work have been devalued by our immigration laws, and many women have been left out of past efforts at immigration reform. Women must have a fair and appropriate way to demonstrate their physical presence, employment history, and contributions to our communities, to get on a pathway to citizenship, and to reunite with and remain with their families. Join us for an informative discussion on why comprehensive immigration reform must include immigrant women and what protections are needed to ensure that women are considered and protected throughout the immigration process.
