The Global Forum takes place prior to our Annual Conference. Come for the Forum, and stay for the largest gathering of immigration professionals in 2013. AILA's Global Migration Section, formerly the Global Migration Action Group, is a community of AILA members and International Associates who are interested in furthering the practice of global migration. Each year the Section offers a one-day Forum for learning that offers networking opportunities for international and U.S. immigration lawyers. Last year's event was held in Nashville, the day before the Annual Conference, and had over 150 participants from a variety of countries. This year we continue the tradition of the Forum before the Annual Conference in order to maximize networking and educational opportunities. The Global Immigration Forum commences with a dynamic keynote address on global migration trends. The morning session will offer insights from Consular Officers from key jurisdictions and then moves to a two-track conference platform that will include contributions from two dozen countries. Track One, Business Immigration in Dynamic World Markets, includes speakers from BRICKS and APAC countries, including Brazil, China, the Philippines and Singapore. Track Two, Practice Management and Ethics, covers how to set up a global immigration practice, tricky ethical issues with UPL, and pre- and post-merger compliance. General sessions also cover hot topics such as increasing employer compliance and complying with local labor law. Global Attendees can also attend the Annual Conference Presidents Reception. This is a can't miss special forum for any and all practitioners navigating a global practice through dynamic world markets.
