The Administrative Appeals Office of the USCIS and the Board of Immigration Appeals within the Department of Justice each have distinct authority for handling specific cases being appealed. Learn which agency has jurisdiction over which appeals.     H. Ronald Klasko is a past president of AILA. He was only the second practicing attorney ever honored with the AILA Founders Award for his contributions to immigration jurisprudence. Mr. Klasko was chosen as the most highly-regarded immigration lawyer in the world by International Who's Who of Business Lawyers. He currently serves as the Chair of AILA's EB-5 Committee. Mr. Klasko has extensive federal court litigation experience and recently won a $90,000 EAJA fee award.

  • Nadine K. Wettstein, Rockville, MD
    Nadine K. Wettstein's practice concentrates on appellate advocacy, writing, and consulting. She is the new co-author of Immigration Law Service, the West (Thomson Reuters) immigration law treatise. Previously, she was director of the American Immigration Council's Legal Action Center, and CLINIC's Section on Immigrant Initiatives and Projects. She has litigated on behalf of immigrants in the U.S. Supreme Court, many federal circuit courts of appeals, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

The cost is AILA Members: $129 and non-AILA Members: $199. You can register securely online using a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card. Please note that if you use the online registration, you do not need to download the registration form and send it in. You can also download and complete the registration form. Please fax the completed form with payment information to the AILA National Office at 202-783-7853. Registration fee includes toll-free number for callers in the U.S. Callers outside the U.S. should contact teleconference@aila.org for information about how to connect to the call and additional direct dial charges that apply. Registration is limited to one participant per connection for the event. Please do not share call-in information with other users, as you will be billed for each connection associated with your name. Registrants will receive confirmation of their participation via email the day before the session starts. No additional notices will be provided.

Tuition Assistance Program:
Full and partial tuition assistance will be offered for all AILA National CLE programming based on need and availability.
