This training focuses on key criminal issues from leading experts in crimes and immigration. The presentation includes state-of-the-art analysis, interactive learning techniques and generous question-answer periods.

I. Multiple Drug Possession Convictions - When Are They Aggravated Felonies? The Supreme Court's decision in Carachuri-Rosendo leaves many unanswered questions on when a second possession conviction constitutes an aggravated felony.

II. Petty Offense Exception - When Single Minor Crime of Moral Turpitude Does Not Trigger Inadmissibility

III. Effective Assistance of Counsel After Padilla - What defense counsel now must do to, after the Supreme Court's decision in Padilla v. Kentucky, to warn the defendant about, and protect the defendant against, adverse immigration consequences.

IV. Post-Conviction Relief After Padilla - How to Vacate Convictions Where Defense Counsel Fell Below the Minimum Standard
