This webinar on S.B. 1070 will feature the lead lawyers from the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project, NILC and MALDEF that have brought a class action lawsuit challenging the new Arizona law. The webinar will explain the main provisions of Arizona's new law requiring police to demand papers from those they suspect are not authorized to be in the U.S. and describe the class action lawsuit, Friendly House et al. v. Whiting, that challenges the law. The lawsuit is filed by a coalition of civil rights groups that also includes the NAACP, Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC), and National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON). This webinar is sponsored by CLINIC and co-sponsored by ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project, the National Immigration Law Center, the American Immigration Council, Detention Watch Network, Immigration Advocates Network, and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild.
