This webinar will give an overview of the law of asylum and the process of applying before the Asylum Office and the Immigration Court. The elements of the refugee definition, the enumerated grounds, and the nexus requirement will be described. The definition of persecution and the effect of past persecution will de discussed, as will the effect of internal relocation. Changing case law on social group will be reviewed.
