CLINIC and the Immigration Advocates Network (IAN) will present a webinar on "Widows and Widowers: How to Immigrate After the Death of a Spouse" on April 23, 2009. This webinar will discuss immigration possibilities following the death of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident spouse, including the eligibility requirements and filing procedures for Section 201(b)(2)(A)(i) relief, humanitarian reinstatement of an approved visa petition, Freeman and other court decisions. Don Ungar, one of the trainers for this webinar, a former senior partner at the law firm of Simmons & Ungar in San Francisco, has litigated cases before the US Supreme Court, the federal court of appeals, the federal district court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Debbie Smith, Project Director of the Immigration Advocates Network, the other trainer for this webinar, has more than twenty years of experience practicing immigration law.
