Representing Immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking

This training will provide attorneys and accredited representatives an opportunity to develop and improve their expertise in the representation of victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and trafficking. It is designed for those who have experience doing VAWA self-petitions, and some knowledge of U visas. We will not cover basic material

Topics will include:
Advanced self-petitioning
Adjustment of Status and Inadmissibility for Self-Petitioners
Overcoming Inadmissibility and Showing Substantial Abuse for U visas
Preparing for Cases in Proceedings
Preparing and Presenting VAWA Motions to Reopen
The Intersection of Family Court and Your Immigration Case
Special Issues for Working with Sexual Assault Survivors

The trainers will be Gail Pendleton, Sonia Parras-Konrad, and Sujata Warrier.

Registration will be closed at 70 participants and is on a first come, first served basis. The registration fee is $450.00 and CLE credit will be available.
