This training will provide an overview of recent federal legislation that impacts our immigration system. Pending legislation will be addressed including proposals for just and humane immigration reform, as well as policy proposals that are currently under review by the Administration and the 11th Congress. Participants will also learn about means to engage in advocacy on these proposals. This training will be conducted by Frances Liu and Gabriela Villareal of the NYIC.
Attendance at the trainings is limited to attorneys, accredited representatives and the staff of government agencies and community based not-for-profit organizations providing services to immigrants, asylees and refugees.
A fee will be charged for this training. In case of economic hardship, fee waiver or reduction may be available upon request.
